How We Rank Proxy Providers

Every ranking on ProxyPlox is computed from the same data-driven formula, applied identically to every provider. Here is exactly how it works, and why you can trust it.

One formula, applied to everyone

We do not hand-pick winners. Each provider is scored from its stored pricing and feature data using the same weighted formula, so the order you see reflects measurable attributes rather than opinion. When a provider has incomplete data, its estimate is confidence-penalized and clearly labeled rather than guessed.

The four ranking factors

38%
Price for your usage

We simulate buying each provider plan for the exact usage you enter, including bundle math, minimum tiers, per-GB and per-IP rates, and any active promo codes. The number that decides the ranking is the real effective cost for your workload, not the advertised starting price.

22%
Reliability and support

We factor in listed success rates, average response times, support channels such as 24/7 live chat, and compliance certifications like SOC 2, GDPR and CCPA. A cheap proxy that gets blocked or has no support is not a good proxy.

18%
Third-party reviews

We aggregate independent ratings from Trustpilot, G2 and Capterra. These are real customer signals, never our own opinions and never influenced by any commercial relationship.

22%
Plan and network fit

We measure how closely a plan covers your requested usage without forcing you to overbuy, plus pool size, country coverage, protocol support and targeting options. Fit rewards providers that match what you actually need.

Use-case rankings work the same way

Our best proxies guides re-weight these same signals for a specific job. A page about sneaker proxies leans on speed, ISP availability and low ban rate; a scraping page leans on rotating residential pools, success rate and scraping APIs; a budget page leans on the lowest effective price per gigabyte. The inputs are always the provider's real attributes, only the weighting changes to match what that use case needs.

Rankings update automatically

Provider pricing, network details and features are refreshed regularly, and scores recompute whenever the data changes. That means a provider that raises prices or improves its network moves in the ranking on its own, without any manual editing on our side.

Editorial independence and affiliate disclosure

Some outbound links to providers are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you sign up through them at no extra cost to you. This never affects the rankings: scores are computed before any affiliate relationship is considered. Where a provider pays for placement, it is always clearly labeled as Sponsored and is excluded from the scored order.

Always verify before you buy

Pricing and features are collected automatically from public sources and can change quickly. Treat every estimate as a guide and confirm the latest terms on the provider's own site before purchasing. Spotted something out of date? Tell us and we will fix it.
